Tom then transferred to 90 Squadron. Post war, he was promoted to Flight Lieutenant in 1948 and then served in the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya. After Mau Mau, he transferred to 100 Squadron, where he remained for the rest of his service into the 1960s.
