Armpit to armpit measurement is 19 inches. Armpit to cuff is 17 inches\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJacket Condition - generally good for its age with some moth trails and some small holes on the left shoulder.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNo shoulder boards present, but the securing buttons are present.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBlue patrol jacket, not named but attributed to Barnes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith Lieutenants rank pips on the shoulders, together with metal T badges denoting Territorial.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYork \u0026amp; Lancs buttons throughout - all present.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe patrol jacket is in very good condition with no mothing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePatrol jacket Chest Size approx 35-36 inches. Armpit to armpit measurement is 17.5 inches. Armpit to cuff is 20 inches\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSupplied with copies of research materials including a photocopy of a photo of him during his Boer War service and one of him as a chaplain, post the award of his OBE\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe whereabouts of his medals is unknown.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eREV. SIDNEY REEVES BARNES O.B.E., TD\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe was commissioned into the 5th Bn York \u0026amp; Lancs and then joined the 1st Bn in the 2nd Boer War where he commanded a small fort at Majuna Hill.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter theological training he was appointed acting chaplain to the 2nd Bn in October 1906.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn November 1909 he was appointed in the volunteer force as Chaplain 4th class, ranking as a captain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the outbreak of WW1 he was appointed Chaplain to the 49th (West Riding) Division, serving within the KOYLI for the entire war.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe took part in the battles of the Somme, Passchendaele and Cambrai.
