Beautiful and very rare original Early Victorian Queen"s Own Worcestershire Yeomanry Cavalry scarlet Coatee dating from 1837-41
On the shoulders the jacket has white metal shoulder scales with the number 20.
Integral gold bullion waist belt.
Silk brocade embroidery to the stand up collar and cuffs
The Jacket has white metal Queen's Own buttons throughout (except for standard plain flat under belt buttons) - all present. The buttons on the front and back are darkened and the buttons securing the shoulder scales are undarkened and those 2 buttons have been heavily polished.
External condition is excellent for its age. Internally the Liner has a good amount of damage around the collar. There is no fixing clasp on the collar.
Size is very small - chest size approx 33-34 inches. Armpit to armpit is 16.5 inches. Armpit to cuff is 19.5 inches
As the jacket has Victorian crown buttons and light cavalry units reverted to wear blue jackets around 1841, the jacket can be dated to that period.
