Beautiful Original mid-Victorian 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) Full Dress Frogged Jacket & Crossbelt to a Lieutenant.
The jacket is Zulu War period and dates to 1870-80.
A very high quality jacket with ornate gold gimp cord decorations to the front, back and cuffs.
Gold lace of the 11th Hussars pattern to the collar and bullion wire and velvet rank crowns for a Lieutenant (single crowns did not represent a major in this period).
Complete with its bullion rope cords.
All toggle fasteners are present. All main front hooks and eyelets are present. The top neck fastening may be missing.
In fantastic external condition with no moth holes.
With padded / quilted lining - with some tears in it.
Chest Size approx 37-38 inches. Slim fitting.
Armpit to armpit measurement is 19 inches. Armpit to cuff is 20.5 inches.
11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) Crossbelt made from scarlet leather with gilt lace and fitted with vintage silvered fittings.
Pre ww1 brown leather pouch with silvered fittings on brass backing plate.
One silvered fitting is missing from one end of the belt.
Rare to find a correct combination such as this and in this condition.
