Original Boer War / WW1 British Leather & Webbing Field Gear Set With rare double strap and Sam Browne dated 1915.
Part of the set is named to Capt J H D Savile.
Capt John Herbert Drax Savile was promoted to Capt in 1897 and resigned his commission in 1901. He served in the 4th Btn of the Rifle Brigade (Prince Consorts Own).
The bread bag is a Boer war pattern and is named to Savile. The bread bag has a leather football button securing the flap. The bag has no carry strap as it is fixed to the Sam Browne.
Includes an original WW1 double strap Sam Browne marked with makers name of Irving Bros Glasgow and dated 1915.
The Sam Browne has a WW1 leather holster and a leather cartridge pouch attached.
With a leather sword frog also marked Irving Bros Glasgow and dated 1915, complete with its sword knot.
A Boer war canvas wash bowl cover with leather strap and carry hook, also named to Capt Savile.
A WW1 rope lanyard in the appropriate WW1 colour.
A private purchase water bottle with felt cover and leather carry strap.
