Boer War & WW1 Medal Group to 1279 3rd Class Trooper James Miller, South African Constabulary (SAC) comprising of
Queens South Africa Medal with 5 clasps :
- Cape Colony,
- Orange Free State,
- Transvaal,
- South Africa 1901
- South Africa 1902 Clasps
The 1902 clasp was worn on the QSA when the recipient was not eligible for the King's South Africa Medal (KSA) which was awarded to those who were in the theatre on or after 1 January 1902 and who had completed 18 months service in the conflict prior to 1 June 1902.
So it appears that James was not eligible for the KSA.
Along with WW1 British War Medal and Victory Medal named to M2-077664 Cpl J Miller, Army Service Corps (ASC).
He entered WW1 service on 1st May 1915 as part of the Mechanical Transport section.
His medal card shows that he was entitled to the 1915 Star though its whereabouts is unknown.
