Fantastic & Rare original Victorian British Army St George's Rifles fur Busby, complete with badge and horse hair plume - pre 1892.
St. George's Rifles is the shortened name for the the 6th Middlesex (St. George's) Volunteer Rifle Corps, formed in 1860 in London.
This unit later merged with the Victoria Rifles to become the 1st Middlesex (Victoria & St. George's) Volunteer Rifle Corps in 1892, before finally merging into the 9th Battalion, London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles) in 1908.
With leather sweatband that shows a good deal of wear.
In excellent condition - no mothing.
Has a War Department stamp but part of it is obsecured.
With makers label for Hobson & Sons of London.
