Fantastic all Original WW1 British Army MK1 ‘Brodie’ Helmet.
With textured green brown paint - some of the texture has worn on the crown of the helmet.
Complete with all original liner, leather chinstrap and brown felt pad.
Marked FKS, being made by Thomas Firth & Sons, Sheffield.
The liner is the pre 1917 pattern before the rubber 'doughnut' ring was introduced.
Buyers please be aware both British and American made MK1 helmets often contain a small layer of asbestos between the woollen felt and cotton wool pad of the liner. The pad is intact and mostly covered by the felt in this example so should be safe to display, however wearing this helmet is not advised. Buyers should satisfy themselves with any safety concerns before purchasing.
