A fantastic WW2 RAF set to Corporal Arthur Norman Cotton, a 16 year old RAF volunteer in 1939, including three uniforms, medals, kit bags and ephemera.

The collection consists of:

- Arthur's four WW2 medals: the Burma Star, 1939-45 Star, War Medal and Defence medal.

- Arthur's RAF Greatcoat dated 1941, size 3 with king's crown buttons (all present).

- Arthur's overseas/summer jacket- size very small (around 34 inch chest). This jacket is not dated but its small size implies that it likely dates from his wartime service. Sadly the top button is missing.

- Arthur's RAF Battledress, dated 1951, with king's crown buttons and WW2 fabric medal bar. Around size 4.

- Arthur's sidecap with RAF KC brass badge and KC buttons. The date is unclear for this cap but it is certainly pre 1952, probably wartime or late 40s. The size is small around a 53.

- A framed colour photo of Arthur from 1939, the year in which he enlisted.

- Arthur's Navigation training textbook, which is named to him.

- A pair of air force woolen gloves found in the pockets of the Greatcoat, likely wartime.

- 2 fabric rank stripes also found in the pocket of the Greatcoat.

- 2 kit bags named / with service numbers to Arthur.

Arthur Norman Cotton

Sadly I can't find too much on Arthur, he was born in 1923 in Hasbury, Worcestershire. He later joined the RAF at aged 16 in 1939 and was stationed in Pershore, India, Singapore and Hong Kong. He later achieved the rank of Corporal.
