Possibly a unique item - a hand decorated tassled edge fabric flag mounted on a metal stand with a heavy metal base.
Decorated on both sides.
May have been used at committee meetings or similar.
Measures 36 cm tall. Flag measures 16 x 14 cm including tassles.
The Royal Air Forces Escaping Society, was a UK-based charity formed in 1946 to provide help to those in the former occupied countries in WW2 who put their lives at risk to assist and save members of the Commonwealth Air Forces" who were attempting to escape and evade capture.
It helped the widows, dependents and orphans of those who died and those requiring medical treatment or otherwise in need. It also fostered continued friendship between escapers and evaders and their helpers
