A WW2 Italian Army Colonel’s 17th Signal Engineers (Genio Telegrafisti) visor cap and cover. In the Italian army the Signal troops were part of the engineer formations.
The 17th Genio Telegrafisti (radio/signal engineers) were attached to the 17th ‘Pavia’ Infantry Division which fought in Libya, defending against Operation Crusader before being destroyed at El Alamein in 1942.
