SOLD! WW2 Italian Artillery ‘Fuori Corpo’ M35 Pith Helmet
SOLD! WW2 Italian Artillery ‘Fuori Corpo’ M35 Pith Helmet
A beautiful WW2 Italian artillery academy M35 pith helmet. Also known as the M28 2nd pattern.
With metal Artillery badge for the ‘Fuori Corpo’ meaning Officer’s not assigned to a regiment e.g. military schools/academies, offices of the General Staff, administrative units and all other personnel not included in regiments.
One photo with the badge removed shows the shadow left by the badge over time, showing it has been on the helmet a long time. It is missing its cockade but this is not uncommon as soldiers often took these off in the field as they stuck out too much.
With original leather chinstrap - loosely fitted
Size 55 stamped inside but feels a size bigger.
Condition is very good
Rare helmet - The M35 was produced mostly after the Africa campaign so would have been primarily in use for the Sicily campaign.
