July Monarchy M1845 French Army (Line Infantry) Shako
An incredibly rare French Army M1845 (July Monarchy/Louis Phillipe period) Line Infantry Shako, dated 1844.
Guaranteed all original. This model was incredibly short lived being replaced just a few years later by the M1848 shako of the Second Empire.
Shako for the 6th Battalion of the 71st Line Infantry regiment.
With original label stating the Regiment and the date of 1844.
Would originally have had a leather chinstrap for field use (not the chinscales found on most other French shakos of the period) - no longer present
With gold coloured 71st Infantry regiment metal Shako plate bearing the crown of Louis Phillipe and a laurel of oak leaves. Pom with metal 6 to denote the 6th Btn.

Two metal aerators at the sides.
Leather liner still present, though curled
In generally very good condition - some damage at the base of the back
