Lovely Original Victorian Durham Light Infantry Mess Jacket & Matching Waistcoat for a Lieutenant
Jacket with red taffeta lapels and green cuff facings.
With raised bullion thread rank pips for a Lieutenant with one missing - supplied with a similiar but not quite matching loose pip.
Original Victorian Durham Light Infantry buttons on both cuffs.
No fastening on the jacket (by design)
Lovely satin quilted lining.
Makers and name labels for Charles Dyke of Hannover Square London. Name label is hard to decipher.
Chest Size approx 34-35 inches. Armpit to armpit measurement is 18 inches. Armpit to cuff is 20.5 inches
Waistcoat of green wool amd with 4 matching Victorian DLI buttons. Nicely silk-cotton lined.
Jacket Condition is generally very good - with a small moth hole on the front at the bottom. Some damage to the lining inside one of the arms.
Waistcoat is in excellent condition - no mothing at all.
Lovely combination of jacket and Waistcoat.
