A 19th Century French Army Infantry Commandant’s M1873 Kepi
With gold coloured flaming grenade metal badge and fabric cockade. Hungarian knot on the top in silver/grey thinner thread fabric than used on later kepis. Badge is a little loose and swivels though is securely fastened.
Gold brocade false chinstrap secured with infantry buttons.
Condition is generally good, but with a number of old darned repairs. One above the cockade and particularly at the back.
