A rare M1886 German Bavarian Reserve Officer’s Pickelhaube

With gilt M1886 Bavarian Reserve plate and cruciform spike base and fluted removable spike.

There are holes for a different plate in evidence.

Spike shows signs of repair internally.

Scaled officer chinstrap, with leather inner present.

Slight rippling of the leather on the visor and the metal visor rim is very slightly loose

There is evidence that the spike base has been replaced some time ago with marks and holes for a round spike base - the current fixings show good age.

Officers ribbed ochre silk fabric liner + leather sweatband liner all in place. Fabric liner  is partly detached at one end.

Helmet retains very good shape overall.

Size is small approx 52-53

The helmet appears to have seen some changes over the years but these are not uncommon - it remains a beautiful Helmet with all original parts.
