Original M1897 WW1 German Prussian Enlisted Man's Artillery Kugelhelm leather Helmet

With brass Prussian plate and round spike base and spike.

The plate is held in place by a leather strip and a period matchstick though it is not uncommon for this to be the case.

Original cockades - one for Prussia and the National cockade, both in very nice condition.

Patina of the metal fittings is good and consistent with each other.

Named inside.

There is a very faint official stamp inside but very hard to read,

There is evidence of a larger / wider spike base being in place previously, but this appears a period / Depot made change.

Original leather chinstrap.

leather sweatband liner in place, and a little worn

Helmet retains very good shape overall.

Size is approx 53-54

Very nice honest helmet of the period.
