French Colonial M1886 ‘Pain de Sucre’ Pith Helmet for the Spahis
With cork construction covered in whitewashed cotton cloth - small dented patch on the rear where the cork shell is damaged
With original metal Star and Cresent badge for a Spahi regiment (North African, Moroccan, Algerian). It could also be Tirailleur, but is more likely Spahis.
Liner fully present and with customary green (but faded) interior lining. One hard to read stamp present.

These helmets were used from the 1880s all the way into the early 1920s, this example is likely turn of the century c.1890-1910 possibly even WW1
