An incredibly rare Victorian Rifle Brigade Lieutenant Colonel’s tunic, pre 1881 pattern, making this example Zulu War period or potentially even older.
With beautiful brocaded collar and cuffs with Major's rank crowns on the collar rather than the epaulets, denoting this as pre 1881. Uniforms from this period are incredibly hard to come by.
Jacket condition- small moth holes on the elbows and one smaller moth hole on the belly- many moth trails across the jacket, some fraying to one of the epaulets, otherwise in very good structural condition, especially for its age.
Chest size approx 36 inches. Slim fitting. Armpit to armpit measurement is 17.5 inches. Armpit to cuff is 17.5 inches.
