A fantastic Pre-WW1 Buckinghamshire Battalion (Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry) OR’s sealskin rifles busby.
With Hobson & Sons label inside, dated 1912 and named to “L Col F Hillier, D Company”, with D company referring to the No.4/D Aylesbury Company.
A great example of the short-lived sealskin rifleman’s busby, this pattern being introduced in 1902 and falling out of use by the end of WW1.
With 1908 blackened Buckinghamshire Battalion cap badge, Ox & Bucks badge and black horse hair plume.
The busby has a few small patches of fur loss and repairs, particularly a patch at the back and to the front lanyard.
It is marked as size 7 3/8.
