Rare Original WW1 Tropical KD Highland Light Infantry HLI Uniform Cutaway Jacket, summer weight Trews & Glengarry
The jacket has metal HLI shoulder titles and KC General Service buttons - all present.
The jacket has a medal ribbon bar containing both Boer War QSA and KSA medals
Jacket had no name or makers label.
Jacket is stamped size 18 (and suitable for height 5 foot 7-8 inches) and is approx 39 inch chest. It measures 20 inches from armpit to armpit when laid flat and 19.5 inches from armpit to cuff.
Jacket condition is excellent.
Trews have a fish tail back for use with braces and a button fly. All buttons present
No makers label but the trews have Anderson & Sons of Edinburgh metal buttons - all present.
Trousers are slim waisted and measure 16.5 inches across when laid flat - approx 30 inch waist. Inside leg 30 1/2 inches.
Trews condition is generally very good but with 4 small holes on the front of the left leg, level with the bottom of the crotch and a small number of pinprick holes.
The Trews have under foot straps. The cotton material is very light weight and suitable for a tropical / hot climate.
Glengarry has a fully original KC HLI badge - inside the cap itself shows the long standing indent of the badge pin and the tartan patch has the imprint of the badge upon it.
Glengarry condition is very good with both tails and black tourie present. One small moth nip on the non badge side.

Overall this is a lovely and rare collection.
