A great example of an early WW2 US Army M1 helmet with fixed bails, a front seam and a Westinghouse liner.
Heat stamp visible on shell, front seam, fixed bales and sewn chinstrap denotes WW2 pattern
Original Leather Liner Chinstrap present. Liner webbing in very good condition and stamped AM Stay Co and with early green washers.
Liner has diamond pattern decals (5th Division ?) on each side that were red originally but have been painted over in olive green.
helmet chinstrap is sewn but appears to be a later replacement/repro
Shell has "99" marked on the back (possibly for 99th Division)
Size is large - approx 58-59
