A WW1 German M16 transitional helmet, with 1930s-WW2 period remnant double decals and camo paint residue with a modern Repro Liner chinstrap.
Paintwork is unusual mottled mix of colours including a gold tinge in many places
Named inside
Maker stamp for TJ68 - indicating that C. Thiel & Söhne, - Lübeck manufactured it. Size 68 is a nice large size that can accommodate liners from 60cm to 62cm
Decals are remnants - could have been Weimar or 1930s/WW2 (most likely the latter).
Liner and chinstrap are later reproductions
Displays very nicely and rare to find this decal and paintwork combination
