An unusual Spanish Civil War M26 ‘con ala’ helmet.
With Spanish Civil war brown/green paint and pre civil war grey paint visible inside and underneath.
The liner appears to have been refitted in 1943, with civil war period 1st pattern rivets having been filled in and a 2nd pattern liner put in. Although it seems it did not receive new paint or a badge holder at the same time.
