A large unpublished amateur WW1 military glass stereo view collection, consisting of 133 positive 13 x 6cm slides.

The main theme of the slides is the medical corps, featuring British Red Cross / St Johns Ambulances and both British and French medics. We believe the collection as a whole was taken by a medic in the French Army.

The set includes a number of stunning images including PoWs and interesting views on German troops benefiting from Allied medical care. Also a number of pictures of trench life, some tanks, crashed aircraft, artillery pieces and other military vehicles.

Most of the slides are in good condition but 12 have some notable damage such as cracks or broken / missing corners (2 of these are shown on this listing). Additionally, 12 others have some slight damage such as a small chip to an edge / corner.

The Slides shown on this listing are a representative sample of the content (not just the best slides).

An approximate breakdown of subjects is

- 41 with Ambulances or vehicles, tanks, planes

- 49 with people in groups, in trenches etc

- 43 of battlefields, ruins, no man's land

Includes holding racks for all of the Slides, and a wooden tray to hold the racks.

Please ask for more photos of the slides if required
