Superb and rare Victorian OR's Scarlet Wool Shell Jacket to the Westmorland and Cumberland Hussars dated 1899.
With white wool stand up collar and cuffs with silver bullion thread corded Austrian knots and frogging to the front, fastened with 21 silver plated ball buttons (one missing - there should be 22), flanked by 22 pairs of half ball buttons, with scarlet satin quilted lining
Stamped by the maker inside one sleeve - John Pearson Master Tailor of Penrith and dated 1899 on the stamp
Named by hand to Slack.
White felt facings on the collar and cuffs.
Chest Size approx 42 inches. Armpit to armpit measurement is 22 inches. Armpit to cuff is 20.5 inches
Jacket Condition is generally very good - with a number of relatively small moth trails and a couple of small holes.
