Original M1895 WW1 German Army Wurtemberg Enlisted man's Pickelhaube Helmet with mid-to-late war grey fittings

With grey Wurtemberg plate and round spike base and spike. The leather holding the plate in place is later though it is not uncommon for this to be the case.

Original cockades - one for Wurtemberg and the National cockade which has lost a lot of it's paint.

There is a pre-reissue regiment  stamp for J.R.159 Infanterie regiment (8 Lothringen) between the plate holes.

There is another but faint re-issued regiment marking on the back visor for JR 127 Infanterie Regiment (9th Wurtemberg Infanterie).

As part of the re-issue there is evidence of a few changes to the helmet - these appear likely to be wartime / repair depot, based upon the change of regiment and age of the fittings :

- the metal back spine has been changed

- there are professionally repaired hole areas for a different plate in evidence.

- the metal front visor edging has been hand painted grey in the field

Later leather chinstrap.

leather sweatband liner all in place.

Helmet retains very good shape overall.

The leather skull shows a good amount of cracking

Size is approx 53-54
