A mounted British WW1 & Territorial Efficiency 4 Medal Group to Sergeant William Paton, who was wounded in action in 1915 at Gallipoli, and again 1916 and was awarded a Silver Wound Badge.

Medal ribbons are original with the possible  exception of the WW2 War Medal which may be a later replacement ribbon.

Mounted on a thick piece of card.

 

Sgt William Paton (7923, 290021)

He enlisted  on 1st April 1908 and initially served in the 7th Btn The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) under service number 7923.

He then moved to the 1/8th Btn under service number 290021. He was wounded at Gallipoli on 7th August 1915 and entitled to wear a wound stripe. He was likely wounded during the battle of Krithia Vineyard. He was awarded his Silver Wound Badge (#353271) in March 1918. He was awarded his Territorial Efficiency Medal in 1920.

He was medically discharged on 31st July 1917.

Supplied with a large  amount of research material which confirms his medal awards and his wound badge award. Also includes an account of the Scottish Rifles res during the Gallipoli campaign and War diaries for the 1/8th Btn in 1915.
