Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant (Warrant Officer 2nd Class) John William Speck (S4/143747)
Born in 1874, Enlisted in October 1915 as a Private with service number S4/143747. He was a 38 year old baker from Hull. Posted to the South African Expeditionary Force in East Africa in February 1916 with the 73rd Field Bakery Section of the Army Service Corps. At some point he contracted Malaria, which he received a military disability pension for after he was discharged in 1919.
