A fantastic WW1 British medal duo to Corporal Mechanic James William Finch who served in the RNAS (Royal Navy Air Service) and RAF.
Victory and War Medals all named and with original ribbons. Also his Miniatures and medal bar included as well as a copy of research material.
Corporal Mechanic James William Finch (203506)
Born 1894, from Camberwell, London, he was a fitter who joined RNAS in march 1915 with service number 203506. Was an Air Mechanic 1st class in 209 Squadron, 4th Aeroplane Wing in August 1916 when he was treated at sea for Diarrhoea. 209 squadron was then absorbed into the RAF, at which point he was a Corporal Mechanic (Moulder). 209 squadron was equipped with sopwith camels and flew fighter and ground operations, it supposedly shot down the red baron.
