Gunner Tom Hanson (204911)

Born in 1880, Tom was a 36 year old farrier from Halifax who enlisted in February 1917 to the 26th reserve battery, Royal Horse and Field Artillery. He was then transferred in April 1918 to the 232nd Army Brigade (Royal Horse and Field Artillery) for service in France. This brigade saw action in Lievin, Hill 70, St Quentin canal and the battle of Cambrai. He was discharged in 1919.
