SOLD! Pre WW1 (Edwardian/Victorian) Royal Artillery Major’s Visor Cap and Tin
A beautiful pre WW1 British Army Major’s Royal Artillery Black Visor Cap and named Toleware tin. The hat has a makers label with a Victorian crown but a King’s crown badge, so likely dated from around 1902.
Tin named to Major J A C Moffat of the County of London Royal Garrison Artillery.
Very high quality heavy black wool cap with gold wire braiding on the visor and with Royal Artillery badge
With black patent leather chinstrap and brass RA buttons
In very good condition except for one small hole on the top edge
Makers label showing a Victorian crown but with maker name incomplete (W S Carver or similar ?) of King Street London.
Retains excellent shape - has an unusual cork upper lining.
Size approx 55-56. Tin measures - 21 cm high, 28.5cm diameter
