Original WW1 Era Black Watch Royal Highlanders 4 Tail Feather Bonnet
With 4 feather tails (which is correct for the Black Watch) and tail ribbons.
The style of the sweatband, liner, use of a wire cage and a stitched leather hackle socket date this bonnet to around WW1 or possibly slightly earlier.
Woollen diced red white and black rim.
Original Black leather chinstrap.
Red leather sweatband with a maker name of Marshall & Aitken, who stopped using this name in 1933.
Internal cage made of wire - one of the wires is loose.
Leather socket for a hackle - hackle not present.
Note that most Black Watch feather bonnets do not have a badge, so a badge is not missing.
Overall condition is good but with some unevenness of the feathers on one side.
