ORIGINAL WW1 FRENCH ARMY M1912/16 BROWN ANKLE BOOTS PAIR - Brodequins

Size marked as 38 (approx UK size 5, US size 6).

With distinctive metal rivets at the bottom of the upper laced part - introduced in 1916.

Condition generally very good, though one boot is missing it's tongue.

The boots were originally hobnailed - the original holes can be seen.

Steel scuff plates at the front (horseshoe shaped) and diagonally across the outer part of the heels.

Maker stamped for Raynaud-Blanchard of Tours, France.

There are also codes stamped inside the top of each boot, maybe batch or inspection codes.
