Unusual original WW1 to Interwar British Army Captain's Uniform Jacket to an MC Winner and WW1 Veteran including North Africa.
An unusual and rare selection of medal ribbons on the fabric medal bar:
- Military Cross
- 1914 Mons Star with 5th Aug rosette
- WW1 War Medal
- WW1 Victory Medal
- Khedive's Sudan Medal 1910
- unknown white, green red and black ribbon, possibly Hijaz / Arab Revolt related
- Order of the Mejidie (Ottoman, pre 1914 for British soldiers)
- Order of the Nile (1915 onwards)
With metal shoulder rank pips for a Captain.
Metal wound stripe on the left arm.
Blue and red overseas Service chevrons on the right arm - red for 1914 and blue for 1915-1918.
The combination of the Mons Star with rosette and service stripes demote that the soldier served from the very start of WW1 - as they have pre-WW1 medals they must have been a regular soldier officer prior to the war.
'Football' buttons throughout - the smaller buttons are a hard plastic / bakerlite and may have been replaced eg in the 1920-30s.
Condition is very good with a small amount of fraying on one of the lower pockets.
Chest is approx 37 inches. Measures 18.5 inches armpit to armpit and 19 inches from armpit to cuff.
