Beatutiful Original WW2 Black Watch 5 Tail feather bonnet & Tin For Major M Wolfe-Murray.

Lovely  example of an ostrich feather bonnet with diced headband. Five rear tails and red feather plume. Interior with leather sweatband having gilt tooled tailors details for Marshall & Attken of Edinburgh.

With original Black Watch badge.

Tin named to Major M Wolfe-Murray amd detailed as Black Watch in 2 places.  The Tin has 2 passage labels attached for travel to Jerusalem Palestine.

Major Malcolm Victor Alexander Wolfe Murray was a Lieutenant-Colonel in The Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). He served in WW2 and held the position of Deputy Lieutenant of Peebleshire. He was the son of Brigadier General Arthur Alexander Wolfe Murray and Evelyn Mary Hay Mackenzie.

He was born in 1908 in Lucknow India and died in 1985. He was Educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England. He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University with a Master of Arts.

Condition is excellent externally - the silk lining is ripped at the seam but could likely be repaired.

Size approx xx - The headband has a leather strap size adjuster.
