Original WW2 Royal Engineers Colonel's Uniform Service Jacket OBE MC WW1 MID
Jacket has brass rank pips for a full Colonel, together with Colonel's Gorgets on the lapels.
Fabric medal bar consisting of
OBE, Military Cross, WW1 1914-15 Star, WW1 Victory Medal with Mentioned in Despatches clasp and WW2 1939-45 Star.
George VI Royal Engineers brass buttons (one lower pocket has a General Service KC button as a replacement)
The jacket has a makers label for Richards & Son of Market Harborough and a date of 1942 - label is not fully stitched.
The name on the label is very hard to read and it is of the format Col then surname, then OBE MC. The surname appears to start with "C" and end with "d".
Nicely tailored / lined.
A number of moth holes on the jacket
- small ones on the Gorgets / collar
- one large one near the front buttons
- 5 medium sized ones on one sleeve.
- some very small ones on the back
Jacket size is approx 38 inch chest. Armpit to armpit measures 19 inches. Armpit to cuff is 18 inches
Although with some mothing this is a rare and lovely jacket and displays nicely.
