A very rare WW2 Yugoslavian Chetnik black wool hat (also known as a šubara) with metal badge.

These were worn by members of the Serbian Royalist, Chetnik resistance groups during World War II, who fought both against the Germans, Italians and Hungarians as well as against other Yugolsavian resistance groups such as Tito’s Communist Partisans. In some cases (the Chetnik movement was not a homogenous group) they also collaborated with the Axis Powers. They were not an exclusively Serbian group, being more royalist than nationalist, but again this differed.

The cap's design is that of a šubara, a traditional Serbian woollen winter hat, and features the iconic Chetnik emblem.

Condition generally very good but with a split in the seam - generally not noticeable until up close and could be sympathetically repaired.

Size approx 56
